Long Beach, Calif. –Motivational speaker Gabrielle Bernstein, “Getting Things Done” best-selling author David Allen and fitness guru and creator of TurboJam, Chalene Johnson are just a few of the keynote speakers during the 30th Annual California Women’s Conference at the Long Beach Conference Center in Long Beach, California on December 7-8, 2016. Kaynote speakers will present on the Conference theme of, “Women of the Future – Leading the Way,” along with other notable speakers, songwriter Lovey James, CNN news anchor Carol Costello, businesswoman and author Sharon Lechter and American actress Chenoa Maxwell. They are among more than twenty speakers along with Five Acres CEO Chanel Boutakidis, who will address the conference this year. Attendees will be encouraged to get inspired, get connected and get results with other women who are making major moves around the globe!

 Registration is now open for the Conference which will be hosted at the Long Beach Convention Center on December 7 and 8, 2016. California Women’s Conference is the longest running and largest women’s conference in the country, attracting more than 18,000 attendees globally; in person and via live web camera. Attendees come together for two full days with the world’s top speakers for empowerment, networking, professional development and personal growth.

Speakers will share their experiences and expertise on a variety of topics including leadership and motivation, small business and entrepreneurship, social media and branding, healthy living, human rights, social services, education, fashion and film. This year’s theme of, “Women of the Future – Leading the Way” encourages women to take a bigger part in changing the course of their own lives and within their communities.  The Conference will focus on the “5 to Thrive” program which focuses on the five key areas of life: Financial, Career, Physical, Social and Community well-being.

Five Acres Golf Classic and Old School Cool Lounge is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 26th at Annandale Golf Club in Pasadena.  The event will feature a full day of golf on the eighteen-hole golf course at magnificent Annandale plus a lively cocktail party, dinner and dancing.

A premium Black Label Edition URB-E donated by Urban 626 will be raffled off and one lucky winner will take it home! URB-E is a lightweight, compact personal electric vehicle designed in Pasadena and built in California.

Following this year’s golf tournament guests are invited to join Five Acres for a, “wow-ee wow-wow” at the Old School Cool Lounge. There will be live entertainment from celebrated jazz artist Janiva Magness, winner of seven Blues Music Awards (with 25 nominations) including awards for B.B. King Entertainer of the year, Contemporary Blues Female Artist of The Year and Song Of The Year, “I Won’t Cry. Guests can sip chilled martinis, spend some dough on the sharp auction items and enjoy the 1960’s, Rat Pack inspired dinner party.

Gentleman are encouraged to dress in their best Rat Pack attire and ladies in their finest 60’s styled cocktail dresses or, go glam like Marilyn Monroe.

Altadena, CA – Five Acres announced today, that its CEO Chanel Boutakidis received the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2016 Nonprofit Leader of the Year Award on Tuesday, July 19 at a ceremony for the Asian Business Awards held at the Omni Hotel Los Angeles.

The awards ceremony, along with a special supplement inside the July 25th edition of LA Business Journal shares the stories and outstanding achievements in a business within the Asian community.

Ms. Boutakidis spoke during her acceptance speech, of the foster care system in LA County and how Five Acres is helping to positively impact the services and programs provided for children and families in crisis.  Five Acres’ mission is to promote safety, well-being and permanency for children and families by building on their strengths and empowering them within communities.  As one of the oldest child welfare organizations, Five Acres started in 1888 as an orphanage for 40 boys. (Altadena, June 15, 2016) – Five Acres, a 128 year old child and family services organization based in Altadena California, hosted its annual gala at the historic Gamble House with more than 250 of Pasadena’s leading community members, politicians, supporters, and volunteers on Saturday, June 4, 2016. Gala co-chairs Chris Selak of Lionsgate Entertainment and Sandy Walia of Wells Fargo, along with twenty dedicated gala sponsorship committee members planned an unforgettable evening to raise funds for Five Acres programs and services. The gala had an exceptional year, bringing in generous donations from live and silent auctions, tickets sales and sponsorships.

Chief Advancement Officer Jennifer Berger shares,

 “This year’s gala was a success largely because of our incredibly supportive donors and volunteers including our amazing gala sponsorship committee. The funds we raised will help to positively change the lives of many children and families in our community and for that I could not be more proud to be a part of the Five Acres family”

The evening, inspired by the historic setting, began with an Edwardian themed cocktail garden party featuring hors d’oeuvres by local chef extraordinaire, Claude & Co Catering, and complemented by a silent auction including items from Disney, Warner Bros, Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, local  high end restaurants, luxury retailers and a highly anticipated live auction including a trip for two to New York City to visit the set of “Orange is the New Black,” a chance to attend this year’s, “ESPYS” and a stunning Porsche Design Dashboard P’6612 Timepiece.

Celebrity emcees, actors Carla Gugino (San Andreas, Spy Kids, Entourage) and Matthew Lillard (Scream, The Descendants, Scooby Do 1 & 2.) kept the  guests entertained and helped to maintained the flow all evening. A gorgeous 1934 Packard was parked out front of The Gamble House for photo “opps,”  The Happiness Band played big band and jazz favorites and the night was capped with a lively dance routine performed by dancers as seen on “Dancing with the Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance.”  

 Founded in 1888, Five Acres mission is to promote safety, wellbeing and permanency for children and their families by building on their strengths and empowering them within communities.
