Five Acres CEO Chanel Boutakidis wins Los Angeles Business Journal Nonprofit Leader of the Year

Altadena, CA – Five Acres announced today, that its CEO Chanel Boutakidis received the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2016 Nonprofit Leader of the Year Award on Tuesday, July 19 at a ceremony for the Asian Business Awards held at the Omni Hotel Los Angeles.

The awards ceremony, along with a special supplement inside the July 25th edition of LA Business Journal shares the stories and outstanding achievements in a business within the Asian community.

Ms. Boutakidis spoke during her acceptance speech, of the foster care system in LA County and how Five Acres is helping to positively impact the services and programs provided for children and families in crisis.  Five Acres’ mission is to promote safety, well-being and permanency for children and families by building on their strengths and empowering them within communities.  As one of the oldest child welfare organizations, Five Acres started in 1888 as an orphanage for 40 boys. Today, the agency serves more than 8, 500 clients and helps spread the word for the need for more foster families with a unique combination of expertise, experience, innovation and advocacy.  More at 5acres.org
