Step 1

Contact our Recruiter/Trainer, Amanda Cruse, or sign up for an orientation class at ACruse@5acres.org.

Step 2

Attend orientation class. Learn the basics about foster care and adoption and get all your questions answered.

Step 3

Training classes. Complete 24 hours of training. Example topics covered include child development, attachment, and the effects of trauma and loss. CPR training is also required.

Training classes. Complete 24 hours of training. Example topics covered include child development, attachment, and the effects of trauma and loss. CPR training is also required.

Step 5

Assessment. A Home Study Specialist will visit your home, interview your family and write an assessment. Topics explored include your family, health history and motivation for wanting to become a Resource Parent. A home inspection will also be completed.

Step 6
